– Clementine: an upbeat, unrestrained girl; as rebellious as her blue-dyed hair would suggest; works at a bookstore, and loves to tease the bookish types that frequent there. Bold and outspoken, yet distant from societal norms. However, beneath her electric personality and risk-taking behavior, she is deeply insecure.

– Joel: a timid, reserved guy, the kind that always double-takes when you speak to him because he’s usually invisible; quiet, but perceptive, Joel is someone who’s a romantic at heart. an introvert who is a little intimidated by the loud and outgoing Clementine; somewhat intrigued but not sure why.
