The Avalon Theatre in Marysville, Ohio, is thrilled to announce open auditions for Neil Simon’s heartwarming and hilarious romantic comedy, Barefoot in the Park! 🎉

Performances will take place on September 26–28, 2025, at the Union County Veterans Memorial Auditorium, with proceeds supporting the Care Train of Union County.

🎬 About the Play

Barefoot in the Park tells the story of newlyweds Paul and Corie Bratter as they embark on their first days of married life in a quirky little apartment in NYC. Their differences—Corie’s wild spontaneity and Paul’s grounded nature—lead to laugh-out-loud moments, especially when Corie’s meddling mom and their eccentric neighbor, Victor Velasco, crash the party. Expect chaos, charm, and comedy in this timeless classic.

• ✨ Corie Bratter (Lead – Female)
  Energetic, spirited, and full of life. Early 20s.
• ✨ Paul Bratter (Lead – Male)
  A young lawyer, cautious and pragmatic. Mid-20s.
• 💐 Ethel Banks (Supporting – Female)
  Corie’s conservative, caring widowed mother. Ages 45–50.
• 🧳 Victor Velasco (Supporting – Male)
  An adventurous, flamboyant neighbor with flair. Ages 50–60.
• 🔧 Harry Pepper (Supporting – Male)
  Witty telephone repairman. Mid-30s.
• 📦 Delivery Man (Non-speaking role)
  Any age welcome!
