Nutley Little Theatre has announced upcoming auditions for “A Doll’s House, Part 2,” written by Lucas Hnath and directed by Wanda Maragni.
This powerful contemporary play continues the story inspired by Henrik Ibsen’s classic drama. Set 15 years after Nora Helmer famously walked away from her marriage and domestic life, the story begins with Nora returning to the same door she once slammed shut. This time, she comes back with an urgent request for her former husband, Torvald.
The play explores themes of identity, marriage, gender roles, personal freedom, human relationships, and the social expectations placed on women and families.
About the Show
“A Doll’s House, Part 2” takes place years after Nora left her husband and children in search of independence and a new life. Now a successful writer, Nora returns to confront the people she left behind and to ask for help with a matter that could affect everything she has built.
The production offers actors the opportunity to work with layered characters, sharp dialogue, and emotionally complex relationships.
