Extras Casting Call in Chicago for NBC’s “Chicago Fire”

NBC’s hit drama series Chicago Fire is back in production for the 2026 season, and the extras casting team is currently looking for local background actors in the Chicagoland area.

This paid casting opportunity is open to people who are local to Chicago, the suburbs, and surrounding border states near Illinois. Selected talent will work as background actors for an upcoming filming date.

About the Show

Chicago Fire is one of NBC’s popular drama series following the firefighters, rescue squad, and paramedics of Firehouse 51. Known for its action, emotional storylines, and strong ensemble cast, the series continues to film in and around Chicago.

For the upcoming filming date, casting directors are looking for both real police/military talent and non-real background actors who fit the requested look.

Casting Details

The production is currently searching for:

🚓 Real police or real military
🎬 Male and female background actors
👔 Men must be clean-shaven with short hair
📍 Must be local to Chicago, suburbs, or surrounding border states to Illinois
📅 Filming date: Friday, September 4

Real Police / Military Rate

Talent with real police or real military experience will receive:

✅ $206 for 8 hours
✅ Time and a half after 8 hours
✅ Additional $25 special ability bump
✅ Payment is sent by check approximately two weeks after filming

Non-Real Background Roles

Casting is also looking for clean-shaven men with short hair and women in their 30s to 60s, all ethnicities, who are not real police or military.

The non-real extra rate is:

✅ $136.40 for 8 hours
✅ Time and a half after 8 hours
✅ Production notes that filming may be around a 12-hour night shoot

Important Notes

Please do not apply if you worked on the show last week or are already booked for a future filming date.

Applicants should also be available for the full filming schedule, as background work can require long hours on set.
