A new Paramount limited series is currently filming in New York, and Grant Wilfley Casting (GWCI) is seeking local talent to portray male sanitation workers in upcoming scenes for 9/12.
The production is looking for performers based in the NYC/New Jersey area for tentative filming dates in October 2026. This is paid background work, with opportunities available for both SAG-AFTRA and non-union performers.
About “9/12”
9/12 is a six-part Paramount drama centered on the legal fight to secure compensation for first responders who became seriously ill following the September 11 attacks.
The series features a cast that includes Jeremy Strong, Andrea Riseborough, Barry Pepper, Neal Huff, Gaby Hoffmann, and Sky Yang.
Produced by Paramount Television Studios and SISTER, the project has Tobias Lindholm serving as writer, director, and executive producer.

Pay Rates
Compensation depends on union status:
- 💵 SAG-AFTRA: $231/8 hours
- 💵 Non-SAG-AFTRA: $187/10 hours
- 🎨 Makeup Bump: Additional $100 if makeup is applied
The background role is covered by a SAG-AFTRA collective bargaining agreement and is subject to a Preference of Employment Provision.
Special Wardrobe & Makeup Requirements
Selected background performers must be comfortable wearing a Tyvek suit and having light artificial dust or ash applied to the body and face.
The artificial material is listed as containing cellulose, PVA, and vegetable starch.
