A new television production centered on the Challenger era of NASA’s space shuttle program is casting paid look-alike performers in the Atlanta, Georgia area.
Casting TaylorMade is currently seeking men who resemble several real-life NASA astronauts for The Challenger, a non-union production filming primarily in Atlanta. These are recurring roles, and selected performers may work multiple dates throughout the season.
Applicants must be able to work as Atlanta-area local hires, although some scheduled filming may take place in Savannah, Georgia.

Casting is currently searching for men who resemble the following NASA astronauts:
- 🚀 Norman Thagard Look-Alike – Male, ages 35–60
- 🚀 John Fabian Look-Alike – Male, ages 35–60
- 🚀 Rick Hauck Look-Alike – Male, ages 35–60
- 🚀 Jim Buchli Look-Alike – Male, ages 35–60
Physical resemblance is especially important for these roles, including hairstyle, facial hair, build, and overall appearance.

The roles are expected to recur throughout the season, although individual work dates are not guaranteed.
Production notes that November 3–5 may involve filming in Savannah, Georgia. Hotel accommodations are expected to be provided for that portion of the shoot, along with additional paid travel days between Atlanta and Savannah.
Fitting and Pay
A fitting will be mandatory before filming.

💰 Fitting Rate: $28/2 hours
The final filming rate has not yet been determined because of the nature and status of these roles. According to the casting notice, look-alike roles are typically around $200/12 hours, but applicants should wait for confirmed booking details for the final rate.
These roles are also very likely to require an audition.
Important Appearance Requirement
Applicants interested in these roles should not cut their hair or shave before hearing from casting.
Period-appropriate hair is extremely important to recreating the astronauts’ appearances accurately. Depending on which role an applicant is being considered for, facial hair may need to be altered or shaved later.
