Available Roles and Character Descriptions

The casting team is seeking performers for principal characters and a six-person ensemble.

1. PRINCE ERIC

A charming and adventurous human prince who has little interest in taking the throne.

After Ariel saves his life, Eric becomes determined to find the mysterious woman whose voice captured his heart.

The role calls for a performer who can portray warmth, curiosity, and an adventurous personality.

2. FLOUNDER

Ariel’s loyal fish companion and best friend, who is also smitten with her.

Flounder is enthusiastic and playful but often cautious about the dangers above and below the sea.

The character balances nervous energy with genuine affection and loyalty.

3. KING TRITON

The powerful King of the Sea and Ariel’s protective father.

Although commanding and intimidating, Triton is also a concerned single parent who deeply loves his daughters.

His fear of humans stems from the loss of his wife, creating emotional complexity beneath his authoritative personality.

4. SEBASTIAN

A musically gifted crab who serves as King Triton’s trusted advisor.

Sebastian is constantly worried about Ariel’s adventurous behavior but ultimately struggles to stand in the way of her dreams.

The role offers opportunities for expressive comedy and musical characterization.

5. URSULA

A calculating and manipulative sea witch who was banished from the kingdom.

As King Triton’s sister, Ursula is driven by resentment and her ambition to seize control of the underwater realm.

Performers should be prepared to portray a bold, deceptive, and commanding villain.

6. ENSEMBLE – SIX PERFORMERS NEEDED

The production is also casting six ensemble actors who will portray multiple characters throughout the show.

Potential characters include:

  • Adella, Aquata, Andrina, Artisa, Atina, and Allana
  • Flotsam and Jetsam
  • Grimsby
  • Chef Louis
  • Scuttle
  • The Pilot
  • Additional characters as needed

Ensemble performers should be comfortable taking on multiple roles and adapting to different character personalities.
