The Aurora Community Theatre in Aurora, Ohio is holding auditions for the musical comedy “Disaster!”, directed by Nicole Lucas. The production is a hilarious tribute to the wild entertainment era of the 1970s, packed with recognizable disco-era songs, outrageous characters, and over-the-top comedy.

Currently, the theatre is also urgently seeking an actor to step into one of the show’s featured roles.

About the Show

Set in 1979, “Disaster!” takes place during the grand opening of a floating casino and discotheque in New York. What begins as a glamorous night of dancing and celebration quickly turns into chaos as the ship is hit by one disaster after another.

As the night unfolds, the characters must struggle to survive the madness while navigating lost love, unexpected friendships, and even a few killer rats along the way.

Urgent Casting Role: Tony

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the production team is seeking an actor immediately to play Tony, one of the key characters in the musical.

Tony is the smooth-talking and confident owner of the floating casino. He’s charming, charismatic, and just a little bit full of himself.

Audition Requirements

Actors attending auditions should prepare the following:

🎤 32 bars of a song in the style of a 1970s pop or disco musical
🎧 Bring your own music track or perform a cappella
💃 Be ready for a short dance combination
📄 Bring a hard copy of your resume

A short video of a 70s-style pop or disco song is also helpful if you are submitting interest remotely, but it is not required.
