NBC’s hit medical drama “Chicago Med” is back in production and casting directors are looking for Chicagoland locals to work as paid background actors. If you’ve ever wanted to step onto the set of a major network TV show, this is your chance to get on camera as part of the hospital’s doctors, staff, patients, and visitors.

Set at the fictional Gaffney Chicago Medical Center, Chicago Med follows one of the city’s most skilled medical teams as they:

Part of Dick Wolf’s Chicago franchise, the show has been a staple of NBC’s lineup since its premiere in 2015.
General Background Casting – Episode 11012 🎬
Casting is currently collecting submissions for Episode 11012 and building a pool of general background talent.
General Background Roles:
- 👤 Any gender
- 🌎 All ethnicities
- 🔞 Ages 18+ only
- 📍 Must live within about 2 hours of Chicago (Chicagoland area)
- 🎓 Must have graduated high school and not be attending classes at the time of submission
If they need minors, a separate casting notice will be posted for that.
Pay & Work Details 💵
- 💰 Rate: $132.80 for up to 8 hours (flat session, not hourly)
- ⏱️ Overtime: Time-and-a-half after 8 hours
- 🚗 Car bump: Additional $35 if booked with your vehicle to be parked on set
- No red or white vehicles, please
- ⏰ Filming typically runs 8–12 hours with early morning call times (unless noted otherwise)
- 🎥 Filming is Monday–Friday only (no weekends)
Availability Window:
- List all dates you’re available between Monday 11/17 and Monday 12/1
- Production is off for the holiday from Wed 11/26 through Fri 11/28 and resumes Mon 12/1
- Do not submit availability for a day if you have any time constraints
