Late Night Productions, in collaboration with KD Conservatory, is casting for When the House Goes Quiet, a powerful non-union drama that dives into the complex relationship between a mother and daughter haunted by the scars of addiction.

Logline:
After picking up her mother from the hospital following an overdose, a guarded young woman is forced to confront years of emotional neglect and codependency—only to realize that love alone can’t save someone unwilling to be saved.

This is a character-driven, emotionally intense short film centered around raw performances and intimate storytelling.

Diane – Female, mid-30s to mid-40s
💔 A woman unraveling from years of addiction, pain, and regret. She loves deeply but often self-destructs.
Lena – Female, early to mid-20s
🤱 Diane’s emotionally tough daughter. Pregnant, introspective, and longing for a bond that’s always felt out of reach.
Young Lena – Female, 8–12 years old
🌟 Bright, curious, and full of innocence. Represents Diane’s guilt and longing for what was lost.
The Man – Male, late 20s to mid-30s
🚫 A loud, selfish presence. Embodiment of neglect. A toxic figure in Diane’s life who represents a cycle she can’t seem to break.
