Get ready to feed the plant! 🌿 The Henegar in Melbourne, Florida has announced open auditions for its upcoming production of the darkly hilarious musical Little Shop of Horrors. This is your chance to hit the stage with one of musical theatre’s most iconic cult hits — complete with killer vocals, wild characters, and a man-eating plant.

Rehearsals: August 24 – October 2
• Typically Sun–Thurs, 6:30 PM–10:30 PM
Tech Week (Mandatory): September 28 – October 2
Performances: October 3 – October 26 (4 weekends)
• Fri 8PM, Sat 2PM & 8PM, Sun 2PM
• Possible additional Thurs performances TBA

🎭 Roles Available

All performers must be 18+ and have strong vocal and acting abilities. Roles are open to performers of all backgrounds and identities.

🧪 Seymour Krelborn (Bari-Tenor A2–G4)

A timid florist’s clerk turned unexpected hero.
(Male-identifying, plays 25–35)

💔 Audrey (Mezzo-Soprano G#3–D5)

Seymour’s sweet but insecure love interest.
(Female-identifying, plays 25–35)

💼 Mr. Mushnik (Baritone G2–G4)

Greedy and nosy flower shop owner.
(Male-identifying, plays 50–65)

🦷 Orin Scrivello (Baritone G2–G4)

Sadistic dentist and Audrey’s abusive boyfriend.
(Male-identifying, plays 30–40)

🎶 The Urchins: Crystal, Ronnette, Chiffon (Mezzo-Soprano Ab3–F5)

Hip, streetwise chorus trio — must be strong singers & movers.
(Non-gender specific, plays 20–35)

🗣️ Voice of the Plant – Audrey II (Baritone G2–G4)

Funky, R&B-style voice for the offstage villainous plant.
(Male-identifying, plays 20–50)

🪴 The Plant – Audrey II Puppeteer

Ensemble role that includes manipulating all sizes of the puppet.
(Non-gender specific)

👥 Ensemble

1–2 additional actors to play reporters, customers, professionals, and assist with puppeteering.
