Open-Air Shakespeare in Staten Island: Audition for As You Like It

The Staten Island Shakespearean Theatre Company is turning Snug Harbor into 1940s Occupied France for a fresh, resistance-flavored take on As You Like It. Director Frank Williams and assistant director Cara S. Liander are searching for a dynamic, diverse troupe––from Rosalind’s quick wit to Jacques’ world-weary charm. Ready to trade the city streets for the Forest of Arden? Here’s your cue!

      • 1 PM – 5 PM & 6 PM – 10 PM

    • The Learning Center, Building G, Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden
    • 1000 Richmond Terrace, Staten Island, NY 10301
  • Performance Dates (outdoors in the Secret Garden):
    • Fri Sept 13 & Sat Sept 14 — 7:30 PM
    • Fri Sept 20 & Sat Sept 21 — 7:30 PM
    • ⛈️ Rain dates: Sept 15 & 22
  • Pay: Small stipend for all actors
  • All roles open. Actors of color & Latinx performers strongly encouraged.

📝 What to Prepare

  • 🎤 One Shakespeare monologue (memorized preferred, but on-book accepted)
  • ⏱️ About a minute long
  • 🙌 Bring headshot & résumé if you have them
