Community Theatre Auditions in Boston

Community through Theater has announced auditions for a workshop reading of a new one-act play titled “The Pink Elephant.” This exciting theatre project will take place in Boston, Massachusetts, and offers a paid opportunity for Latinx actors interested in participating in the development of a new stage production.

Written by Community Advisor Mars Oliver-Martinez, The Pink Elephant tells the emotional story of siblings Mariposa and Mateo as they face challenges surrounding illness, loss, and responsibility while caring for a new member of their family.

This workshop reading will be presented to a small audience as part of the play’s development process.

🎭 Roles Currently Casting

The production is seeking Non-Union Latinx actors for the following roles:

🎬 MARIPOSA – Age 13
(Actors aged 14–17 who can believably play 13 are welcome to apply)
🎬 MATEO – Age 19
(Actors aged 18–24 who can convincingly play 19 are encouraged to apply)

✨ While these characters are written as masculine and feminine presenting, actors of any gender identity or expression are welcome to submit.

Actors must be available for the following sessions:

📖 Table Read: April 27, 2026 (6:00 PM – 8:30 PM)
🎭 Reading Day: May 1, 2026 (4:00 PM – 8:30 PM)

📍 The performance location in Boston will be announced soon as the production team finalizes logistics.
