CAB Castings is currently seeking Atlanta-based actors for a special casting opportunity supporting student short films created through an industry summer intensive film program in Atlanta, Georgia.
This casting call gives local actors the chance to collaborate with emerging filmmakers, gain on-camera experience, and help bring original student-created stories to life. The selected films will be approximately 10 minutes long and are part of a creative summer program hosted at a film studio in Atlanta.
Please note that the stories and character breakdowns were written by the students as part of their creative development process. These young filmmakers are excited to work with talented local actors and bring their visions to the screen.

Actors must be available for an in-person audition and chemistry read on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 11:00 AM. The exact location and credentials will be provided to those selected.
Filming will take place sometime during the window of July 13–July 17, 2026. Exact shoot dates will vary depending on each student production’s schedule, so actors should have open availability during this period.
Project 1 Roles
🎭 Grown Hattie / Harriett – Lead
Female, mid-30s to early 40s, African American, dark-skinned or brown-skinned. Hattie is a social worker who remains haunted by the childhood she lost. Independent and emotionally guarded, she enters an unconventional trauma recovery center and must face memories she has avoided for years.
🎭 Dr. X – Lead
Male, mid-60s, African American, dark-skinned or brown-skinned, 5’11”–6’3”. Dr. X is a charismatic psychotherapist and founder of an unusual therapeutic community. Charming, powerful, and complex, his healing methods may not be exactly what they seem. Character reference: Mr. Milchick from Severance.
🎭 Marsha – Featured / No Lines
Female, mid-40s, Afro-Latina or Latina, 5’5”–5’7”. Marsha is a longtime resident of the therapeutic community who appears fully committed to its strange lifestyle, but she may know more than she reveals.
Additional featured non-speaking roles are also available for two adults, ages 30s–50s, people of color. One man and one woman are needed.
Project 2 Roles
🎭 Mason Lloyd – Lead
Male, late 20s to early 30s, African American. Mason has recently returned home after more than a decade away. Quiet, disciplined, and emotionally guarded, he carries guilt and unresolved grief while trying to reconnect with a world that has moved on without him. Strong nonverbal acting skills are essential for this role.
🎭 Mrs. Lloyd – Lead
Female, 50s to 60s, African American. Mrs. Lloyd is elegant, poised, well-spoken, and deeply family-oriented. Beneath her polished and loving exterior, however, there is something subtly unsettling. The role requires an actress who can balance warmth, sophistication, and mystery.
🎭 The Scientist – Featured / No Lines
Male, 50s to 60s, White. Highly intelligent, cold, and emotionally detached, The Scientist has a calm authority and unsettling presence. This role requires an actor who can communicate power without dialogue.
