The stage is set and the search is on! The Henegar Center in Melbourne, Florida is gearing up for its upcoming production of the high-energy, feel-good musical Hairspray—and YOU could be part of the cast! 🌟

Auditions are coming soon, and the team is seeking adult vocalists, actors, and dancers to bring this beloved show to life. If you love to perform, this is your chance to shine under the lights of one of Florida’s top community theatres.

Walk-ins will be accepted on a first-available basis (expect possible wait times).

Virtual auditions are allowed for performers living 90+ miles away. Submissions (due by June 21) should include:

Headshot
Theatre résumé
Vocal selection from the show
Dance reel (if applicable)
Preferred roles + flexibility for other roles
Known scheduling conflicts & housing needs (if any)

Note: All performers 16+ will receive a paid travel stipend. Equity Guest Contracts may be available.

🎭Rehearsals:
July 6 – August 14
Sunday through Thursday evenings | 6:30 PM – 10:30 PM
👉Mandatory Tech Week: August 10–14

🎭Performances:
August 15 – September 7

Fridays: 8:00 PM
Saturdays: 2:00 PM & 8:00 PM
Sundays: 2:00 PM
(Additional Thursday performances may be added)

✨What to Expect at Auditions

Audition nights will include:
Music from the show
Scenes
Choreography combinations
Callbacks may occur on the same night. Vocal sides will be provided once your appointment is confirmed.
