Auditions Open for “Rock of Ages” at Davidson Community Players

Aspiring young performers in North Carolina have an exciting opportunity to take the stage as Davidson Community Players announces auditions for its upcoming production of the hit musical “Rock of Ages.”

With the submission deadline approaching tomorrow (April 1), interested performers are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

Directed and choreographed by Hannah Shizuko, with musical direction by Vicki Harvell, the production will cast 20–25 talented performers aged 16–24. This program is part of the TS3 summer experience, an intensive musical theatre training designed to mirror the fast-paced environment of a traditional summer stock production.

About the Production

Rock of Ages, with a book by Chris D’Arienzo and arrangements by Ethan Popp, is a high-energy musical packed with iconic rock hits and over-the-top characters. The show celebrates the wild spirit of 1980s rock culture, making it perfect for performers with strong vocals and bold personalities.

🎶 Franz Klinemann (he/him) – A shy character who finds freedom through rock music
🌿 Regina (she/her) – A passionate activist determined to protect the Sunset Strip
