NBC’s Chicago Med Seeking Background Actors for Episode 12006

NBC’s hit medical drama Chicago Med is currently casting paid background actors for upcoming episodes of its 2026/2027 season.

Casting directors are accepting submissions from talent living within approximately two hours of the Chicagoland area for Episode 12006. In addition to general background opportunities, production is also seeking one performer for a featured, director-selected patient role.

Premiering in 2015, Chicago Med follows the doctors, nurses, and staff of Gaffney Chicago Medical Center as they handle challenging medical emergencies while navigating their personal and professional relationships.

The production is collecting general availability submissions from Chicagoland locals interested in appearing as background actors.

📍 Location: Chicagoland area — applicants must live within two hours of Chicago
👥 Age: 18+
💵 Rate: $136.40/8 hours
🚗 Vehicle Bump: Additional $35 if your vehicle is booked to appear on set

General background casting is open to all genders and ethnicities. Applicants must have graduated from high school and cannot currently be attending classes.

Filming days generally run approximately 8–12 hours, with call times often scheduled early in the morning. Applicants should only list dates when they are completely available without scheduling restrictions.

Production is currently requesting availability between September 17 and September 28, with filming taking place Monday through Friday.

💵 Pay: $200/8 hours
💄 Fitting: Additional $25 fitting bump, if applicable

The performer will portray a patient being intubated during a medical procedure. Applicants must be comfortable with a fake intubation tube positioned over the mouth, realistic-looking medical props near the face, and prosthetic skin pieces used for the scene.

A special effects fitting may also be required before filming.
