Norwegian AURA Seeking Dancers and Singers for Cruise Ship Shows

Norwegian Cruise Line is heading to the Los Angeles area to hold auditions for performers interested in joining original mainstage productions aboard the new Norwegian AURA.

The casting team is seeking production dancers, singers, and specialty vocalists for upcoming at-sea entertainment. Auditions will take place in Burbank, California, with dancers attending an open call and singers auditioning by appointment.

This is a great opportunity for performers who are ready for a professional cruise ship contract, full-scale productions, and international travel while performing onboard one of Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest vessels.

About the Production

Norwegian Cruise Line is casting for original mainstage shows debuting aboard the Norwegian AURA. One of the productions will be a concert-style show inspired by the musical legacy of a well-known artist.

The show is expected to follow the style of Norwegian’s previous artist-celebration productions, including shows inspired by Prince and Elton John. Performers may also take part in other onboard entertainment events such as welcome shows, nightclub events, parties, and additional guest experiences.

Dancer Open Call

The dancer audition will take place on September 19, 2026.

Dancers will be seen in the order they arrive. Callbacks are expected to take place the same afternoon.

Production Dancer Requirements

Norwegian is seeking athletic, dynamic, and versatile dancers with strong technical training. Dancers should be comfortable performing in a range of styles, including:

💃 Commercial jazz
🕺 Contemporary
🎶 Hip-hop
🤝 Partnering and lifts

The ability to lift or be lifted is required. Tumbling or acrobatic skills are a plus, and some dancers may receive aerial training during rehearsals.

Female-identifying dancers should be prepared to dance in both heels and flats. Male-identifying dancers should bring sneakers and jazz shoes. All dancers should wear form-fitting dance attire and bring a hard copy of their headshot and resume.

Singer and Specialty Vocalist Auditions

Specialty vocalists and production singers will audition on September 20, 2026, by appointment only.

The casting team is looking for charismatic performers with strong vocal technique, stage presence, and the ability to connect with an audience.

Specialty Vocalists

Specialty vocalists should be mature BIPOC singers who read late 20s to 40s. The production is looking for seasoned vocalist-entertainers who can capture the vocal power and energy of iconic artists.

Strong candidates should have experience in:

🎤 Gospel
🎤 R&B
🎤 High belting or tenor vocals
🎤 Strong head voice and falsetto

Lead energy, star quality, and the ability to move or dance well are required.

Production Singers

Production singers may be female or male identifying and should have wide vocal ranges, strong stage presence, and the ability to move or dance well.

The team is seeking singers with skills in contemporary pop, rock, and R&B. High belters, tenors, and baritenors are encouraged to apply. The ability to hold tight harmonies is a must, and dance or movement skills are a plus.

All ethnicities are welcome for production singer roles.

Contract Details

Rehearsals are expected to begin around November 9, 2026 for dancers, followed by a holiday break from December 20, 2026 through January 10, 2027. Dancer rehearsals resume around January 11, 2027.

Specialty vocalist rehearsals are scheduled to begin around January 11, 2027, while singer rehearsals are expected to begin around February 8, 2027.

The cast is scheduled to board the Norwegian AURA around February 22, 2027. The contract is expected to run for approximately six to seven months onboard, with an itinerary that includes the Mediterranean and Caribbean.

Pay and Benefits

Pay rates while onboard are listed as:

💵 Specialty Vocalists: $1,730 per week
💵 Singers: $1,200 per week
💵 Dancers: $1,000 per week

Travel will be provided to Tampa for rehearsals, to the ship, and home at the end of the contract. Cast members will also receive single-occupancy cabins onboard, including dancers.

Performers will work as crew members but will not have cruise staff duties outside of their performance schedule.

Who Can Apply?

All performers must be at least 18 years old to apply. Dancers, singers, and specialty vocalists with strong performance skills, professionalism, and the ability to handle a long cruise contract are encouraged to prepare for the Los Angeles auditions.
