Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings is heading to New York City for live auditions for “Syd Norman’s Pour House,” a high-energy rock music experience featured across Norwegian Cruise Line and partner cruise lines, including Regent and Oceania.

NCLH Shows & Experiences is currently accepting appointment requests for rock vocalists and rock vocalist/guitarists interested in performing in this interactive, music-driven production.

About “Syd Norman’s Pour House”

“Syd Norman’s Pour House” is a musical concept created by the original creative team behind the Broadway musical “Rock of Ages.”

The show takes audiences back to the glory days of rock music from the late 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. Inspired by the legendary energy of LA’s Sunset Strip, the production combines live music, comedy, audience interaction, improvisation, and a powerful house band.

Performers should be ready to bring big vocals, strong personality, humor, and authentic rock energy to the stage.

This is a live audition, so applicants must be available to attend in person in New York City on the audition date.

Roles Being Cast

NCLH is seeking performers for lead and background vocal roles with a live cast and band.

Rock Vocalists

The casting team is looking for authentic, hip rock vocalists with the ability to deliver both smooth vocals and grittier rock tones.

Ideal performers may have:

🎤 Tenor range with a rock belt up to C5
🎤 Mezzo or strong rock belt
🎤 Smoky lower vocal registers
🎤 Strong harmony skills
🎤 Confident stage presence

Vocal references include artists such as Lionel Richie, Rod Stewart, Freddie Mercury, David Bowie, Tina Turner, Linda Ronstadt, Stevie Nicks, and Heart.

Performers should also have strong improv acting skills, comedic timing, and the ability to work with a loose script while interacting with the audience.

Knowledge of old-school hip-hop or rap is considered a strong plus, as performers may need to incorporate rap lyrics into mashups or medleys. Percussion skills such as tambourine or maracas are also a plus, but not required.

Rock Vocalist / Guitarists

The production is also seeking rock singer-guitarists with an authentic sound and look.

Applicants for this track should have strong vocal ability, stage presence, and proficiency on both acoustic and electric guitar. Band experience is preferred.
