The Challenger Limited Series Casting NASA Staff, Police, Families, and More

Casting TaylorMade is seeking background actors and specialty extras for the upcoming limited television series The Challenger, with filming scheduled in Atlanta, Georgia, during October 2026. The non-union casting opportunity offers $182 for 12 hours, with filming dates scheduled for October 14 and October 19–23, 2026.

From NASA employees and engineers to police officers, journalists, hospital staff, and neighborhood residents, the production needs performers who can bring the era to life.

About The Challenger Limited Series

The Challenger is an upcoming historical drama inspired by the events surrounding the 1986 Space Shuttle Challenger disaster.

The series explores the people, decisions, ambitions, and institutional pressures connected to America’s space program during a transformative period in NASA’s history.

Set primarily during the late 1970s and 1980s, the story recreates locations and communities connected to NASA, including Houston, Texas, and the engineering operations supporting the shuttle program.

Rather than focusing exclusively on astronauts, the production will also portray the professionals, families, journalists, and everyday people whose lives intersected with the historic events.
