About the HBO Max Series The Pitt
The Pitt is an acclaimed medical drama created by R. Scott Gemmill and produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
The series stars Noah Wyle as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, a senior emergency physician working at the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center.
Unlike traditional medical dramas, The Pitt uses a real-time storytelling format, with each episode following approximately one hour of a demanding 15-hour hospital shift.
The series explores the challenges facing emergency room doctors, nurses, and medical professionals as they navigate critical situations, difficult decisions, and the emotional demands of healthcare.
The ensemble cast includes Patrick Ball, Katherine LaNasa, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell, Shabana Azeez, and Sepideh Moafi.
Following its Emmy Award success, The Pitt is preparing for its third season, which is expected to premiere in January 2027.
Although much of the series is filmed at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California, the production also returns to Pittsburgh to capture scenes reflecting the show’s Pennsylvania setting.
